With the temperature dropping, people will soon be able to skate outside.

The City of Regina has started flooding its outdoor rinks and they should be ready in about two weeks.

The city has also launched an online map, letting residents check the status of local rinks before heading out.

“Be mindful of the people (who) are using the rinks,” said Ray Morgan with the city. “There are young people and hockey players; use protective headgear and be safe.”

There are 23 boarded and 38 non-boarded rinks in the Queen City.
