The price tag for Regina’s new Mosaic Stadium may end up being higher than initially pegged.
At Monday night’s meeting, city council will consider a proposal from Regina Exhibition Association Limited to raise its debt limit to $13 million from $2.8 million.
The association runs Evraz Place, where the new home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders is being built.
Most of the borrowed money would be used for repairs and maintenance, while around $4 million would fund the installation of food and beverage equipment.
The association anticipates it will repay $8.8 million of the debt within five years.
The new stadium, which is slated to open by the start of the 2017 CFL season, was initially estimated to cost $278 million.
