The average cost of a home in Regina jumped by $20,000 last year.
The Association of Regina Realtors says 3,900 houses were sold through real estate agents at a record average price of $278,000.
Home sales surpassed the billion-dollar mark in the city for the first time ever in 2011.
The association says prices could continue to climb in 2012 as the market tightens.
