A Regina business is turning to social media to help catch a thief.
Dustin Gero, owner of the Pita Pit in east Regina says earlier this week, a man came into his store, put the staff's tip jar in his backpack and left.
Gero says there was around $150 inside the jar at the time, and he has posted surveillance video of the theft on Facebook to help catch the person responsible.
He says the online attention is turning up tips and a bit of unexpected generosity.
“I’m getting inboxed like crazy on my Facebook,” Gero said.
“People are saying they’re going to pay it forward, they’re going to come in and tip my staff, it’s very sweet. People are dropping bills in the tip jar.”
