The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed two new defensive players and released import linebacker Chris Ellis.

Defensive end Jammie Kirlew and defensive back Chip Vaughn have both inked contracts with the Riders, the team announced Wednesday.

Kirlew comes to Saskatchewan after brief stints with the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Vaughn spent three seasons in the NFL after being drafted by the New Orleans Saints. After missing the 2009 season due to injury, the 27-year-old joined the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad. He most recently played for the Indianapolis Colts.
