Saskatchewan Transportation Company is hiking passenger fares for a second time in less than a year.
Fares will increase by an average of 4.5 per cent, starting March 2. The average fare increase per ticket will be $1.65, based on an average one-way trip of 182 kilometres.
The price of a medical pass will remain unchanged at $66.20.
STC says passengers have the option of purchasing a $30 frequent rider card to save 20 per cent off adult or student tickets for one year.
Last August, STC increased passenger fares by an average of 5.5 per cent.
In a news release, STC president and CEO Shawn Grice said small annual increases help to offset the amount of subsidies the company needs from the government.
