A multi-vehicle crash west of Regina Tuesday killed one person and sent six other people to hospital, RCMP say.

Mounties responded to the collision on Highway 1, east of Pense, Sask., at about 4:15 p.m. A charter bus, a car and two SUVs were involved in the crash.

The lone occupant of one of the SUVs, a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said in a media release.

Six other people were taken to hospital in Regina. RCMP did not release details on the extent of their injuries.

Police do not yet know the cause of the crash and have yet to determine if weather is considered a factor.
