Strong winds and blowing snow reduced visibility to near zero across southwestern Saskatchewan on Tuesday.
Environment Canada issued blowing snow warnings in the area. Meanwhile, wind chill warnings were in effect for central and southeastern parts of the province.
Travel was not recommended on the Trans-Canada Highway from east of Swift Current to Belle Plaine, and on several other highways in the southwest.
Temperatures were expected to drop below -40C with the wind chill Tuesday night in parts of central and southeastern Saskatchewan.
