Charges have been laid in a fatal crash that claimed the lives of two people in east-central Saskatchewan nearly two years ago.

The 19-year-old Sturgis man faces eight charges, including two counts each of impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death. His name hasn’t been released because he was a youth at the time.

Two men, ages 19 and 20, died after a pickup truck hit a culvert in a ditch and rolled on Highway 47 south of Preeceville. The names of the two victims haven’t been released.

Two others in the vehicle sustained serious injuries.
