The Crown is seeking sentences of three years in prison plus restitution for three former SaskTel managers who were found guilty of fraud and theft.

Sentencing arguments in the case got underway at Court of Queen’s Bench in Regina on Wednesday.

In December, a jury found Joan Yasinowski, Barry Richardson and Dan Crites guilty of two counts each of fraud over $5,000.

Yasinowski, Richardson and Crites were also all originally charged with theft over $5,000, but the jury found them guilty of theft under $5,000.

The trio was accused of bilking SaskTel out of more than $100,000 through a company called “Green Really Works,” which overcharged SaskTel for assembling digital TV set-top boxes.

The trial heard the three bought golf clubs, bicycles and signed apparel on SaskTel’s dime, and claimed the merchandise was for promotional use.

Sentencing arguments are scheduled to continue Thursday.
