RCMP are investigating after an 11-year-old girl was abducted at the Yorkton Exhibition.

Mounties say an older white man approached the girl at the fair around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The man lured the girl to his car by saying he would give her money to play games at the exhibition.

He said he wanted to drive closer to the exhibition. Instead, he drove about five kilometres north of the city.

The girl managed to escape from her abductor and ran into a field. RCMP officers found the girl while she was walking back to Yorkton.

The man is described as Caucasian with glasses and grey hair with a bald spot. He was wearing a blue and white checkered shirt.

He was driving a full-sized four-door blue car with a brown or grey soft interior.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Yorkton RCMP at 786-2400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
