RCMP say a man wanted for murder in the Yukon could be in Saskatchewan, Alberta or B.C.

Michael Thomas MacPherson is charged with second-degree murder in the death of John Tanner Sinclair, who died of stab wounds in Whitehorse, Yukon on July 15.

MacPherson – who may also go by the names Michael Pound, Michael Proud or Steven Price – is believed to have fled the Yukon and he has ties to all three western provinces.

MacPherson is described as 32 years old, five-foot-ten and about 220 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He has several tattoos on his chest, both arms and both calves. He may have coloured or highlighted hair and his teeth are said to be in poor condition.

He may be driving a red, older-model Toyota Corolla, which could have several dents and may bear the Yukon licence plate AVR55 or HHS50.

Mounties are telling the public not to approach MacPherson, who is believed to use drugs and is considered armed, dangerous and violent.

Anyone with information that could help authorities locate MacPherson is asked to call 911 or their local police service.
