A man is in hospital with apparent gunshot wounds after an armed home invasion in Regina's Uplands neighbourhood.

Police say a 25-year-old woman was also assaulted Tuesday night after two men with guns and a woman forced their way into the home on Bauermeister Street.

The 25-year-old man who was apparently shot during the incident is expected to recover from his injuries. The woman, who was struck several times, was treated in hospital and released.

One of the invaders was described as an Aboriginal man in his mid-20s, five-foot-nine and about 140 pounds with no facial hair or noticeable markings. He was wearing a red-and-blue hat

The other man was described as Aboriginal and about 140 pounds. He was wearing a black touque and a black hooded sweatshirt.

The female suspect was described as Aboriginal and about 150 pounds with long hair pulled back into a ponytail.

Police say investigators are following up on leads in the case, but have not yet identified the perpetrators.
