A new poll shows a slight uptick for the Saskatchewan Party, which has a strong lead over the NDP as the April 4 election approaches.

The Mainstreet/Postmedia survey pegs support for the Sask. Party at 49 per cent, up three per cent from a week earlier. After trending upward for several weeks, the NDP has seen its support slide from 30 per cent to 28 per cent.

The Liberals trailed in third with seven per cent, followed by the Green Party with two per cent. Fourteen per cent of those polled were undecided.

The poll, which surveyed 1,498 Saskatchewan residents by phone on March 1, has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.53 per cent 19 times out of 20.
