Regina police are now offering a $50,000 reward for information on the unsolved triple murder of a family in the city nearly four years ago.

On Wednesday, the Board of Police Commissioners approved the reward in the murders of Gray Nay Htoo, 31, Maw Maw, 28, and three-year-old Seven June Htoo.

The family of three was found dead in their home at a housing complex on Oakview Drive in the city’s Uplands neighbourhood on Aug. 6, 2010.

“It’s a very, very tragic case and our police service is 100 per cent committed to holding the person or persons accountable for this very, very serious crime,” said Regina Police Chief Troy Hagen.

“We’re hoping, with the $50,000 (reward), that it will stimulate further discussion and profile in the community. I do want to emphasize that this is not a last-ditch effort in terms of our investigation as we move forward.”

A team of five investigators are currently working full-time on the case, in conjunction with the RCMP, FBI and other police services.

Police believe there are people in the city with information that could be crucial to the investigation, and it’s hoped that the reward will motivate them to come forward.
