Regina police used a Taser to subdue a man when an altercation broke out while officers were investigating a report of a domestic disturbance.

Police were dispatched to a home in the 2300 block of Cornwall Street shortly before 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived, they found a 42-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman inside the home.

Police say the man soon became agitated and confrontational, and one of the officers used a Taser on him during an altercation.

The man was arrested and assessed by paramedics but he refused medical help. Two police officers sustained minor injuries.

Tige Andrew Charles Shaw has been charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer and one count of resisting a police officer.

Shaw was scheduled to make his first court appearance Friday afternoon.
