The Salvation Army is launching its Back-To-School Backpack program with a donation from the Ministry of Education. The program provides children in Regina with a backpack filled with new school supplies for the school year.

“This time of year can be very stressful for parents as they struggle with all the costs associated with sending their children back to school,” Program Coordinator at TSA Haven of Hope Ministries said in a written release.

MLAs, Warren Steinly, Laura Ross and Muhammad Fiaz, presented the program with a monetary donation and a collection of school supplies Tuesday morning.

The Salvation Army will give out 1000 backpacks to children in Regina this year.
