The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority is recalling 1.14-litre bottles of Bombay Sapphire London Dry Gin because it has a higher alcohol content than shown on the label.

SLGA says the affected batch, bearing the lot code L16304w, has an alcohol content of 77 per cent, rather than the 40 per cent content on the label.

The affected product is not safe for consumption, SLGA said in a media release Wednesday.

“Consuming a product with an alcohol content of 77 per cent could cause serious illness,” SLGA said.

The lot code can be found on the bottom of the back side of the distinct blue-glass bottle.

Anyone with the affected product can return it to any liquor retailer for a full refund.
