A teen has been charged with attempted murder after a 39-year-old man was stabbed at a home on the Whitebear First Nation.

RCMP say the victim suffered serious injuries in the Nov. 16 stabbing. He remains in hospital in Regina.

As Mounties were investigating the stabbing, they heard a collision on Highway 9 near the scene of the crime.

Officers found a man who had been struck by a vehicle. He was airlifted by STARS air ambulance to hospital in Regina.

The victim of the pedestrian collision, 18-year-old Mallory Maxie of the Whitebear First Nation, has now been charged with attempted murder in connection with the stabbing.

Maxie is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday in Carlyle, pending his release from hospital.
