Two teenage girls were sent to hospital Friday evening after they were hit by a car in Yorkton.

The pair, who are 15 and 16, were crossing Broadway Street West at Maple Avenue around 6:40 at night when they were struck by a westbound car, RCMP said in a media release.

The girls had activated the crosswalk signal light and were in the crosswalk when they were hit, according to police.

Both were sent to Yorkton Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol was not a factor, RCMP said. Officers are still investigating.
