A school on the Cote First Nation in southeastern Saskatchewan was put on lockdown after a man pulled a knife on an employee.

A source tells CTV News the incident happened at the Chief Gabriel Cote Education Complex shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The school went into lockdown as the man moved onto the roof.

RCMP say the man came down from the roof at 10:30 a.m. and was taken into custody without incident. There's no word on any charges.

No staff or students were hurt in the incident and the lockdown has since been lifted, RCMP said.

Mounties are not releasing any details about the man and any connection he may have to the school.
