The Sask. Party caucus has obtained a new legal opinion when it comes to abortion, but isn't saying why.

Included in the discussion is whether minors should require parental consent before obtaining an abortion.

This comes as a number of Sask. Party leadership candidates discussed their position on the subject of abortion.

The provincial government says legal opinions aren’t made public, and Saskatchewan’s justice minister doubts any changes will take place.

“The supreme court of Canada has made rulings, the Canada health act exists, our legislation exists and I’m not aware that there’s any intention. I’m not aware of any intention by the government to make any changes,” said Don Morgan, Minister of Justice
