The president of the University of Regina is responding to allegations of questionable spending.

Vianne Timmons says the university is doing all it can to comply with provincial requests.

The government has asked for any record of contracts or agreements between the university and two men linked to the IPAC-CO2 controversy.

Timmons insists there have been no contracts with one of the men and another hasn't been on the university's payroll for two years.

She also pointed out that the facility at the centre of it all is a separate entity from the university on leased land that's not officially on campus.

Timmons also revealed details about the departure of a high-profile staff member.

After 11 years with the university, Barb Pollock is resigning as vice-president of external relations, effective at the end of April.

Timmons says Pollock wants to pursue contract work and a less rigorous schedule, and that there are no immediate plans to replace her.

That's welcome news to the Canadian Federation of Students.

The group says the resignation will result in savings of $200,000, money it wants to see put toward student services.
