After 67 years of operation, Western Christian College and High School is closing its doors.

Declining enrollment has taken its toll on the private school, located in Regina. There are about 75 students in the high school program and only one college student.

CEO Karen Cooper says this will be the final year for the school, which opened in Radville in the 1940s.

After the Second World War, the school moved to an abandoned air force base in Weyburn. That's where high school enrollment peaked at 300 students in the early 1980s, with another 40 in the college program. The school later moved to Regina in 2003.

About 20 staff members will be affected by the school's closure. The Orr Centre, which shares the facility, will continue to operate.
