Work finally starts at site of oft-delayed Capital Pointe project

It’s a sight many have been waiting months, even years, to see.

On Monday, work began on the long-delayed Capital Pointe hotel and condominium development.

Last week, developers promised to start work on the underground parkade at the site, located on the corner of Victoria Avenue and Albert Street.

Two Western Canada-based companies – ITC Construction Group and Doublestar Drilling – have been hired to do the work.

The project is expected to be complete by spring 2018.
