An outbreak of influenza has the doors closed to visitors at the Pioneer Village Care Home in Regina.

A number of cases of the H1N1 flu have been reported at the facility and medical officials locked down the special care home a week ago.

The lockdown comes in the same week provincial health officials confirmed three deaths linked to H1N1 in Saskatchewan.

The care home will be re-evaluated by medical officers Monday to determine if the closure should continue.

As of Dec. 28, more than 160 cases of the flu were confirmed in the province, with most cases being the H1N1 strain of the virus.
