Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir are on pace for their seventh Skate Canada International title.

Canada's Olympic gold and silver medallists scored 82.68 points to win the short dance on Friday.

Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje were second with 77.47, while Americans Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue were third (76.08).

Virtue, from London, Ont., and Moir, from Ilderton, Ont., returned to the sport last season after a two-year hiatus and are undefeated in their comeback.

Canada's Kaetlyn Osmond picked up where she left off last season. The 21-year-old from Marystown, N.L., landed three triple jumps to win the short program with a personal-best score of 76.06 points.

Anna Pogorilaya was second with 69.05, while Russian teammate Maria Sotskova scored 66.10 for third.

Osmond captured silver at the world championships in Finland, Canada's top finish in women's singles since Joannie Rochette's second-place finish in 2009.
