Police have charged a Regina teenager with arson after merchandise was deliberately set on fire at the Dollarama store in the Cornwall Centre.

The 13-year-old girl, who cannot be named, was arrested Thursday in connection with the June 12 fires, which caused about $1,000 in damage.

The store was evacuated and no one was hurt.

The girl was scheduled to make her first court appearance Thursday.

Meanwhile, a 12-year-old boy has also been charged with arson in an unrelated fire that caused an estimated $25,000 in damage to a detached garage in Regina's Rosemont neighbourhood on July 14.
