The latest poll shows the Saskatchewan Party is still leading by a wide margin, but the NDP is tightening the gap ahead of the April 4 provincial election.

The Mainstreet/Postmedia survey found support for the Sask. Party has declined two per cent from the previous week to 47 per cent, while the NDP is now polling at 33 per cent, an increase of five per cent.

Six per cent of respondents said they would vote for the Liberals if the provincial election were held the day they were polled. The Green Party was fourth with two per cent support. Twelve per cent of those surveyed were undecided.

The poll, which surveyed 1,423 Saskatchewan residents by phone on March 8, has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.6 per cent 19 times out of 20.
