A third person has been charged in connection with a 2015 homicide in Regina.

Police say 23-year-old Robert Brian Oochoo of Regina is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 48-year-old Matthew John Wells. He also faces charges in connection with three other incidents that occurred on the same day. Oochoo made his first court appearance Feb. 5.

In the early morning hours of Oct. 22, police were dispatched to a house in the 1500 block of Robinson Street for a report of an injured person. Police and EMS found Wells dead inside the home.

That same night, police were called to the 2200 block of Robinson Street after shots were fired into an apartment. The balcony doors of one of the suites were shattered, but no one was hurt.

Also on Oct. 22, police received a report of an arson and theft from a vehicle, which authorities now believe is connected to the two other incidents.

Police also investigated another incident that night, in which shots were fired into a home on the 3200 block of Dewdney Avenue. No one was injured.

Two other people – 25-year-old Jason Dustin Hotomanie from the Broadview area and a 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named – face similar charges in connection with the four incidents.
