RCMP say two people who died after a small plane crashed near Swift Current last week were both from Quebec.

A 60-year-old man from Saint-Felix-de-Dalquier, Que. and a 35-year-old man from Saint-Remi, Que. were killed in the crash just southeast the Swift Current Regional Airport last Thursday night.

The names of the victims have not been released.

When emergency crews arrived, they found the fixed-wing aircraft on the ground. The two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

The federal Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation into the crash.
