Environment Canada says parts of southeastern Saskatchewan could receive upwards of 75 millimetres of rain Wednesday.

Severe thunderstorms that could produce strong winds, large hail and flooding rains are expected to move into the province from the northern U.S.

The agency says 50 to 75 millimetres of rain could fall in the area within the span of a couple of hours as the storm moves toward Manitoba.

Severe thunderstorm watches were issued for Estevan, Weyburn, Moosomin, Carlyle and surrounding areas.
