Black Bean Brownies

Makes one 9 x 13 inch pan

One 454 mL can black beans, rinsed, or 2 cups cooked black beans

1/4 cup cocoa powder

1 tsp cinnamon

4 large eggs

3 tbsp spelt or whole wheat flour

1/2 cup honey or maple syrup

1/4 cup raw sugar

1 tbsp butter

1 tsp vanilla extract

3 tsp baking powder

In a food processor, place beans, cocoa and cinnamon. Blend until pureed. Add remaining ingredients and process. Pour into a greased 8” x 8” pan for thicker brownies, or a 9” x 13” pan (for thinner brownies). Bake at 375°F for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 325°F and bake for 15 minutes or until firm to the touch.
