A 61-year-old woman from Beatty, Sask. is facing multiple charges after RCMP discovered and seized illegal tobacco products.

Yorkton Municipal RCMP were called to assist CN Rail Police at a traffic stop around 8:00 p.m. Saturday. RCMP say they seized about 200,000 cigarettes and more than $5,000 in cash, along with a vehicle and cargo trailer.

Monique Blanche Milliken, 61, was arrested and charged with possession and transport of tobacco product exceeding 10,000 cigarettes, possession of proceeds of crime exceeding $5,000 and possession of unstamped tobacco product.

Milliken was taken into custody in appeared in Yorkton Provincial Court on Monday. She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear on the charges on May 8.

The investigation is ongoing.
