Police say a body that was found inside a Regina home last week is that of a missing woman who was the victim of a homicide.

The woman has been identified as 30-year-old Tara Fawn Chartrand of Regina. She had been missing since Sept. 16.

Officers were called to a house in the 1100 block of Cameron Street last Friday, where they found the body of Chartrand.

Investigators confirmed the identity of the victim following an autopsy Tuesday. Her family has been notified.

Police say they have identified a suspect in the case, but so far, no charges have been laid.

The death is Regina’s sixth homicide of 2012.
