Inmates at the Regina Correctional Centre have launched a hunger strike.
The Ministry of Justice said 12 inmates started refusing trays at lunch on Monday.
The ministry the health of the inmates will be monitored closely and it is focused on the safety and security of the inmates, staff and facility.
Officials will continue to monitor the situation.
