Investigators are trying to determine what sparked a massive grass fire that spread to a stack of pallets at a business in northeast Regina on Tuesday night.

Nearly 10,000 pallets went up in flames at Bob's Discount Pallets, along with a one-ton truck, two forklifts and an antique car.

The fire also affected several power lines, leaving some homes without electricity.

Regina firefighters had to call in crews from White City. Refinery fire crews also leant a helping hand, along with a farmer who was protecting his field.

It took several hours to get the grass fire under control, while the pallets continued to burn well into the night.
