The Regina Pats are sending two players to the 2018 World Junior Hockey Championships selection camp.

Captain Sam Steel and defenceman Josh Mahura will travel to St. Catharines, Ont. later this month.

Steel signed signed with the Anaheim Ducks in 2016. This is his second time attending selection camp for the World Junior Championships. He was part of the final cuts before the 2017 tournament. Steel scored 131 points last season and was named WHL player of the year. He has 12 goals and 30 points in 24 games this year.

Mahura was drafted by the Ducks in the third round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. This will be his first World Junior selection camp. He has 23 points in 24 games for the Pats this season.

Steel and Mahura will leave for the camp on Dec. 11.
