An RCMP officer based in Morse, Sask. is facing charges after allegedly pointing a gun at a woman in a home in Edmonton.

Cst. Dale Malbeuf was arrested by the Edmonton Police Service on Dec. 13 and charged with one count of pointing a firearm, and one count of careless use of a firearm.

He appeared in court on Dec. 14 and was released with conditions. He is scheduled to appear in court in Edmonton again on Jan. 6, 2017.

Cst. Malbeuf has 12 years of service with the RCMP. He has been suspended with pay and the RCMP will be investigating his actions.

Morse is 60 kilometres east of Swift Current.
