No one was hurt after a small cargo plane slid off a runway at the Regina airport.

The Metroliner turboprop aircraft, operated by Carson Air, attempted to abort takeoff, but wasn't able to stop in time.

The incident happened while the plane was departing on the airport's secondary runway around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Two pilots were on board at the time. Both were uninjured.

The airport's main runway remains open, and passenger flights are not affected.

The incident is under investigation.
