Struble disappearance unsolved 20 years later
Tuesday marks 20 years since Estevan’s Courtney Struble went missing without a trace.
On July 9, 2004, the 13-year-old was over at a friend's house watching movies when she decided to walk home – only she never made it there.
She was last seen just after 11 p.m. in the vicinity of Highway 39 and Woodlawn Avenue on the outskirts of Estevan, Sask.
Struble has not been seen or heard from in the two decades since her disappearance.
None of her belongings went missing – and items such as her health and debit card have never been used.
In 2012, Saskatchewan RCMP came to the conclusion that Struble was the victim of foul play – and began to investigate her disappearance as a homicide.
“Saskatchewan RCMP would like to encourage anyone out there who may Information regarding Courtney’s whereabouts that it is never too late to come forward with it,” the service said in a statement to CTV News.
In the 20 years since her disappearance, dozens of investigators have worked Struble’s case, conducting hundreds of interviews.
The case is now being overseen by the Saskatchewan RCMP Historical Unit. They continue to work with the Estevan Police Service to ensure that all credible information is followed up on.
RCMP is yet again asking anyone with information on what happened to Struble to contact their local police service.
Residents can also submit information anonymously through Crime Stoppers online or by phone at 1-800-222-8477.
“No matter how much time has passed or how small the information may seem, it could be the piece that puts it all together,” RCMP said in its statement.
“We do not give up on missing people and the Historical Case Unit will continue to investigate any new information received until Courtney is located.”
