A new poll has found 59 per cent of Regina residents say they feel safe, while 45 per cent say they believe crime is increasing in the city.

Just over one-third of respondents said crime is staying the same in Regina, according to the Mainstreet-Postmedia poll released Monday.

The poll also asked Queen City residents to weigh in on the new Mosaic Stadium. The survey found 77 per cent of Reginans approve of the new stadium.

Forty-three per cent said their opinion of the new stadium has improved over the past five years, while seven per cent said their opinion diminished. Another 39 per cent said their opinion has stayed the same.

The poll, which surveyed 603 Regina residents by phone on Oct. 12, has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.99 per cent 19 times out of 20.
