Regina police confirm a four year old girl, the victim of alleged abuse and neglect, has died in hospital. The child was taken to hospital Wednesday in what was called an unresponsive state.
Police say the girl passed away Thursday evening. Her sister, aged 2 years, remains in hospital. The child’s name has not been released. Police say next of kin have been notified.
Thursday, a 37 year old man and a 35 year old woman appeared in court jointly charged with two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm. They were remanded to August 9th. A news release from Regina Police Service says “ it’s anticipated any changes in the charges against them will be read in Provincial Court at that time.”
