The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations is calling on the indigenous population to cast ballots during advance polls for Monday's provincial election.

Chief Bobby Cameron says First Nations members voting sends a powerful message to political parties that they have to address issues that are affect indigenous people.

Advance polls remain open through Saturday.

Cameron thanked Elections Saskatchewan for making the election more inclusive for First Nations.

Elections Saskatchewan says there will be 155 polls in aboriginal communities on Monday -- up from just under 100 polls in the 2011 election.

Elections Saskatchewan has also prepared a voters guide in the Cree and Dene languages.
