A Regina man is facing charges after a shotgun was accidentally fired inside a home Monday afternoon.

Around 12:30 p.m., police were called after a shotgun was fired inside a house on the 600 block of College Avenue. The shotgun blast caused extensive damage to the house and a car parked in front of the home, but no one was hurt.

Officers ordered the only occupant of the house to come out with his hands up, and the man was taken into custody. Police found a shotgun inside the home.

Tyler Joshua Volk, 28, of Regina has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and careless use of a firearm. He was released on an undertaking to appear in court on Oct. 11.
