The Saskatchewan Water Security Agency says the majority of spring run-off is now done.

The agency says tributaries are making their way into the major systems, so places that had localized flooding should see an improvement over the coming days.

Agency spokesman Patrick Boyle says a few places -- especially along the Qu'Appelle Lakes -- still need to be prepared for water levels to rise over the next couple of weeks.

However, Boyle says flooding won't be as bad as it was in 2011.

Fifty-five communities have asked the province for disaster assistance because of flooding, up from 48 communities on Wednesday.

Water is also still covering the eastbound lanes of Highway 16, the Yellowhead Head Highway, near Radisson, forcing cars to be detoured.
