Two people were taken to hospital after a collision between a car and a motorcycle on the Trans-Canada Highway near Whitewood, Sask.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 9 around 2:15 p.m. Friday.

RCMP say an eastbound motorcycle collided with a southbound car that had turned into its path.

The male driver of the motorcycle and a female passenger were taken to hospital in Broadview. The extent of their injuries wasn't known.

The three occupants of the car weren’t hurt. Everyone involved in the collision is from Manitoba.

The 68-year-old female driver of the car was ticketed for failing to yield to an approaching vehicle while turning left, and operating an unregistered vehicle.

Eastbound traffic on Highway 1 was restricted to one lane while police investigated.
