Travelers escaping the Canadian cold were greeted to a special surprise at the Regina Airport Tuesday morning. As a part of WestJet's 12 Flights of Christmas initiative, 163 customers travelling to Cancun, Mexico from Regina were greeted with a concert and presents while they were checking into their flight.
The airline has been visiting communities across Canada surprising customers to a show and gifts, and Regina was stop number 11.
Country music singer Aaron Pritchett was on hand to perform and professional golfer Graham Delaet was there to greet travelers.
Customers were also given a present to open; prizes included a blue tooth speaker, a West Jet gift card, teddy bears and five lucky customers were given a free flight with WestJet.
"Holidays can be really stressful for people, they're travelling, it's busy, and we just wanted to alleviate that stress and make it a really positive experience and get them into the holiday spirit," said Katie Weaver from West Jet.
The locations for 12 flights of Christmas were voted on by customers through a Facebook contest. WestJet has one more surprise stop tomorrow on their 12 Flights of Christmas.
