Regina’s partially complete International Trade Centre at Evraz Place is ready for the 2016 Canadian Western Agribition.
The building will be used to host major agricultural events, trade shows, festivals, conventions and banquets. It will join all buildings at Evraz, making it the largest interconnected event facility in Canada.
The 150,000-square-foot facility costs $37 million dollars. Funding for the building came from the federal and provincial governments, the City of Regina, Canadian Western Agribition and the Regina Hotel Association.
The second phase of construction for the Trade Centre will begin in the new year and is expected to be ready for the 2017 Agribition.
For this year’s show, the centre will be home to several breeds of cattle, horses, sheep and goats.
