Two people have died in a two-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway just east of Regina.
RCMP say a southbound car collided with a westbound pickup truck at the intersection of Highway 1 and the Pilot Butte turnoff around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The two occupants of the car – a 68-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman, both from the nearby community of Emerald Park – were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released.
The lone driver of the pickup truck was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
The westbound lanes of Highway 1 were closed for several hours following the crash. RCMP are continuing to investigate.
